Three figures in overalls are among the most useful accessories to an aviation or a ground scene, because there is always somebody busy around a machine under repair. The manufacturer casts the set in polyurethane resin and gives the count of three figures directly in the designation of the item. It is supplied without paints, without a base and without extra tooling.
Maintenance men spent far more time with the hardware than the crews themselves. The work was divided between powerplant, armament and instruments, and an experienced noncommissioned officer with his own party was responsible for it. That is exactly why the set looks natural beside an aircraft with its engine uncovered, by a workshop truck and inside a hangar, where three figures are enough to tell the story of one ordinary shift. Seat the figure bending over the engine so that it does not hide the most interesting thing, namely the exposed powerplant.
Overalls follow a different color logic than a uniform: the cloth is faded, worn at the knees and elbows, and there is usually an oil stain on the chest.
