Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet MiG-27M ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model has a well worked out cockpit and landing gear bay, a seat with photo-etched safety harnesses, a variable-geometry wing, an optional position for the landing flaps and a rich selection of external stores. The box contains clear parts and a decal sheet. The exact number of parts is given in the instructions in the box.
The MiG-27 was a single-seat ground-attack aircraft derived from the MiG-23 fighter family and adapted for attacks on ground targets. Its characteristic features are the sloped nose without radar and heavy gun armament. The MiG-27M version was among the more advanced production forms, with modernized avionics for more accurate strikes. Besides the Soviet Air Force, India also operated it in large numbers.
Glue the parts with a thin plastic cement; attach the photo-etched seat harnesses with cyanoacrylate. Seat the variable-geometry wing mechanism so that it holds the chosen angle. We recommend dry-fitting the parts first, as it pays on this model to watch the correct mating of the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting; Soviet tactical schemes are typical, and the panel lines can be accentuated with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
