This item is not an aircraft kit but a detail correction set from the Czech brand CMK. It contains resin parts with which the shape and course of the intercooler channels routed through the fuselage are corrected on a P-47D Thunderbolt model in 1:48 scale. The set is intended for modelers for whom the contents of the box are not enough and who want this prominent part of the airframe to be faithful in shape.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was fitted with an engine whose turbocharger sat right at the rear of the fuselage. Compressed air traveled aft through ducting, was cooled in the intercooler and returned to the engine; the waste air left through flaps on the sides of the rear fuselage. This installation took up a substantial part of the inside of the fuselage and also determined its characteristically bulky shape. That is precisely why a faithful rendering of the channels and their outlets is clearly visible on a model.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue, otherwise paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc rather than with nippers, so that the material does not split. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. On the model the corresponding place in the plastic has to be cut out precisely and the parts dry-fitted, and only then bonded with super glue. The seams can be refined with putty and sanded before a filling primer is applied.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without glue and paints. It is not a model in its own right but a set for modifying a kit.
