Space is a modern detail set from Eduard that combines 3D printed color decals (the instrument panel, the side panels, the controls) with steel, three-dimensionally shaped seat belts. It is matched to a particular injection-molded P-47M Thunderbolt kit in 1:48 scale. The result is a photo-realistic look of the cockpit with a minimum of work. This is an accessory, not a kit.
The Republic P-47M Thunderbolt was one of the last and fastest variants of the massive American fighter of the Second World War. It was powered by the strong Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine and was deployed above all against fast targets in the closing stage of the war in Europe.
The 3D decals are not dipped in water: only the backing paper is moistened, the decal is lifted off with tweezers and seated with PVA glue onto a smooth, semi-gloss base; once dry it can be secured with varnish. The steel belts keep the shape they are bent into and can be formed for realistic sag. Unify the cockpit with a base color before fitting them, so that the 3D details stand out better.
This is a detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
