This one-piece resin figure represents the pilot of the U-2 high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft in the characteristic pressure suit. The casting is finely worked out and completed with a decal sheet for insignia and markings. The figure serves to liven up a build and dioramas in 1:48 scale; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Because of flights at the edge of the stratosphere, the pilot of a high-altitude reconnaissance machine had to wear a complete pressure suit similar to a space suit, including a sealed helmet. It is exactly this outfit that makes the figure an unmistakable and attractive subject: it captures the era of the Cold War and of strategic reconnaissance from extreme altitudes.
First wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release agent residue. Cut off the casting block, sand the area and protect your airways while doing so. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer and then shade the silvery gray suit step by step; apply the insignia decals onto smooth varnish and fix them with a matte overcoat.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
