The set contains two 3D-printed resin figures of modern carrier deck crew in purple jerseys. It comes as unglued, unpainted castings meant to complete an aircraft model or a deck scene in 1:48 scale.
On the deck of American aircraft carriers the color of the jersey marks the role of a crew member. Purple marks the fuel crew, nicknamed grapes, who see to refueling the aircraft. The figures are captured in working poses matching the handling of fuel hoses.
First wash the parts free of print resin residue, separate them carefully from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Sand with respiratory protection. For a realistic look an airbrushed base finished with a brush works well, with the folds of the clothing gently picked out by a wash.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
