Reskit 1:48 R-40TD (AA-6 Acrid) Missiles (2 pcs) is a resin set of two guided air-to-air missiles for models of the MiG-25PD and MiG-25PDS in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains a pair of guided R-40TD air-to-air missiles in an accurate resin rendition. This is not an aircraft model, but a detail accessory for the underwing armament of your fighter MiG in 1:48 scale. The parts replace the simpler kit missiles and add sharp surface detail, including fine fin surfaces.
The R-40 was a large Soviet guided air-to-air missile intended for heavy interceptor fighters. The R-40TD version used infrared (heat-seeking) guidance and was carried by the MiG-25PD, MiG-25PDS and MiG-31 on patrols against high-flying targets.
Wash the castings, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; white or light gray missiles will then stand out nicely. Bring out the fine guidance fins and stabilizers with a thin wash.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
