Zvezda Mi-24 (Hind) 1:48 - an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet attack helicopter nicknamed the flying tank, with a turreted gun under the nose.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Soviet Mi-24 attack helicopter, known in the West by the reporting name Hind. The model in 1:48 scale from Zvezda offers a richly detailed surface, a glazed pilots' cockpit, a well worked-out rotor head and underwing stores on the wing pylons. It is the classic Hind version with a movable turreted gun under the nose - the version with the fixed side-mounted twin-barrel 30 mm cannon is offered by Zvezda separately as the Mi-24P.
The Mi-24 is a heavily armored attack helicopter of Soviet design that, as one of very few, combines strong fire support with the ability to carry a small landing party in the rear cabin - hence the nickname flying tank. It entered service in the mid 1970s and proved itself in combat above all in the conflict in Afghanistan. It was powered by two turboshaft engines, thanks to which it was among the fastest attack helicopters of its era. The early and classic versions carry a movable gun turret under the nose; the heavy fixed cannon came only with the later Mi-24P version.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. First finish and paint the cockpit and the cabin interior, and only then close the fuselage up. Mask the glazing before spraying. Leave the rotor blades and the landing gear to the end. For Soviet and Russian camouflage schemes an airbrush and soft color boundaries work well; use washes to bring out the rivets and panel lines and fine pigments for dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
