The T-34/76 model 1941 medium tank in 1:48 scale gains, thanks to this brass set, fine grilles, covers and grab handles in place of molded relief.

The Soviet medium tank of the start of the war has been given a brass set by the Italian brand Royal Model that replaces the coarsest molded areas of a model at 1:48 size: the covers, the grilles, the grab handles and the small sheet-metal accessories on the hull. The model thereby gains softer transitions and sharp edges where plastic offers only suggested relief.
The 1941 pattern brought together three things that no production machine had had in one place until then: heavily sloped armor, a wide-track chassis able to handle mud and snow, and a diesel engine with good resistance to fire. In the first year of the war the 76.2 mm gun could penetrate practically everything that came out against it. The price was a cramped two-man turret in which the commander also served the weapon, and the rough workshop finish that came with hurried wartime production. It is that very roughness that is both a challenge and a draw for modelers, because weld beads and grinding marks can be suggested on a model.
Leave the cast surfaces under the photo-etch rough, as the contrast with smooth metal looks convincing. Glue the grab handles on only after the base color, as it is then easier to get a brush into the corners. The running gear deserves dry mud shades applied from the top downward.
The customer gets a metal fret; the plastic model and the modeling chemicals have to be bought as well.
