A set of colored water-slide decals, Airscale US Navy instruments in 1:48, for detailed dressing up of the cockpits of American naval aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of full-color water-slide decals from the British maker Airscale in 1:48 scale. It holds the dials of the cockpit instruments used in the cockpits of the aircraft of the US Navy in the Second World War. It serves to bring the instrument panel and the side consoles to life. It is not a model or a kit but an accessory for dressing a cockpit up.
The decals show the instruments for flight, navigation and monitoring the powerplant typical of American carrier and naval aircraft of that time. Each dial is on the sheet separately with a minimum of carrier film, which makes exact placement easier. The set combines well with photo-etched instrument bezels.
Apply the decals over a smooth gloss varnish, which prevents silvering. Cut the motif out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and, once it comes free, slide it into place. A decal softener is worth using, and a matte varnish over the top at the end.
This is a standalone accessory. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
