About product

ZB vz. 26 with the bipod deployed — a 3D-printed accessory in 1:48 (Firma49)

A faithful reduction of the Czechoslovak ZB vz. 26 light machine gun in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Firma49. It is not a model kit: it is a standalone accessory for figures and dioramas, printed in high-resolution SLA resin. This variant has the bipod deployed (opened out), so the machine gun is in the firing position, set down and ready to fire. It suits a prone gunner and combat scenes. Anyone who needs the machine gun at rest or on the move should take the variant with the bipod folded; the same machine gun is made in the smaller 1:72 scale as well.

The real subject

The ZB vz. 26 is the legendary Czechoslovak light machine gun developed and made by Zbrojovka Brno in the late 1920s. It ranks among the best and most influential machine guns in history, distinguished by its reliability, simple design and quickly changed barrel. You recognize it by the characteristic curved top-mounted magazine and the ribbed (cooling) barrel. It was exported to dozens of countries around the world and used for many decades. The British derived the famous Bren machine gun from it, its name a joining of BRno and ENfield. It is a proud piece of Czechoslovak arms history.

Work and painting tips

Separate the part carefully from the supports with a sharp knife or a saw, wash off the print resin residue and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate) — cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. A primer is worth applying, then metal and weapon shades and gentle drybrushing of the ribbing of the barrel and the edges.

Who the accessory is for

  • Diorama builders creating combat scenes with a prone gunner in a firing position
  • Collectors and painters of military figures in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone interested in Czechoslovak arms history
  • More experienced modelers used to small resin parts

This is a 3D-printed resin accessory. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; figures, paints and glue are not included in the package.
