An injection-molded plastic kit of the British destroyer HMS Harvester in 1:500 scale from the Polish maker Plastyk. The small scale suits a shelf as well as a display case; the box holds plastic sprues and a decal sheet. It is an older, simpler tooling, and the exact contents differ from box to box.
HMS Harvester was a Royal Navy destroyer used in the Second World War. She served in the Battle of the Atlantic escorting convoys and fighting submarines, and she was sunk in 1943. Destroyers of this category carried gun armament, torpedo tubes and depth charges and were the backbone of the protection of Allied sea routes.
With a ship in a small scale, take care over a clean assembly of the hull and the superstructure; fix the small parts with super glue. Clean up the older parts, fill the joints and sand them back. The model can be set on the stand supplied, or built as a waterline model. Gray shades applied with an airbrush suit naval camouflage; washes bring out the fine detail. Railings and other fine touches can be added from photo-etched sets.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
