A plastic set of small Grumman E-2C Hawkeye shipboard aircraft in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. It is not one large model but a set of several miniature aircraft molded in clear plastic, with which you can fill the deck of a model of an American aircraft carrier. The parts carry a finely engraved panel structure and a decal sheet is included; on many of the pieces the wings can be built extended or folded for the parked position.
The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is an airborne early warning and control (AEW) aircraft of the US Navy, recognizable by the large dish radar above the fuselage. It entered service in the middle of the 1960s and in improved versions it serves to this day. From the deck of an aircraft carrier it keeps track of the air picture and directs friendly aircraft.
Separate the small parts from the sprue carefully and clean them up. Glue them with thin modeling cement and handle the small pieces with tweezers. Once the base coat is sprayed on, paint the aircraft in gray naval shades with an airbrush, and a fine wash will bring the deck equipment to life. The set is an excellent addition to the deck and the hangar of an aircraft carrier model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
