Flyhawk 1:700 photo-etched set - the Japanese battleship Kongo 1944

This is NOT a ship kit but a super-detail set of photo-etched brass parts for refining a plastic model of the Japanese fast battleship Kongo as she was in 1944 in 1:700 scale considerably. The set contains several photo-etched frets; the basic plastic model is not included and has to be obtained separately. The set is cut for the Fujimi kit.

The real subject

Kongo was a Japanese fast battleship, originally built as a battlecruiser and rebuilt later. In her 1944 version she carried strengthened anti-aircraft armament and was actively committed to the Pacific operations of the Second World War.

• Fine railings, ladders, platforms and deck fittings.

• Cut the parts with a photo-etch knife, bend them over an edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate.
• Degrease before painting and use a primer suitable for metal.
