The Flyhawk 1:700 detail set for the battleship Kongo 1944 is an extensive photo-etch for a ship model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An extensive accessory for ship modelers in 1:700 scale from Flyhawk. The set holds photo-etched metal parts with which you replace the plastic railings, ladders, platforms and other thin structures on a model of the Japanese battleship Kongo in her 1944 state. It is cut for one particular kit of this ship, so it may not line up on another model. The kit is not included in the package. The difference between plastic and etched railings is visible on a finished model at once, because the silhouette stays thin and see-through.
The Kongo was originally built as a battlecruiser and was the only large Japanese ship built in a British yard. In two reconstructions she received heavier armor and more powerful machinery and became a fast battleship that escorted carrier formations. In 1944 she took part in the fighting at Leyte and in November of that year she was sunk by an American submarine in the East China Sea.
The set is intended for experienced modelers. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
