A plastic kit of the attack helicopter Bell AH-1W Super Cobra from the manufacturer Italeri in 1:72 scale. The model offers a detailed cockpit, finely indicated panel lines on the fuselage and complete external stores. A color painting guide and a decal sheet are included; the exact contents may differ between individual editions.
The AH-1W Super Cobra is the twin-engine version of the proven Cobra family, which the United States Marine Corps began to use in the second half of the 1980s. Compared with the earlier single-engine machines it offered higher power and load capacity. Its gun armament is a trainable 20 mm cannon, and besides that it carries TOW and Hellfire anti-tank missiles, Sidewinder air-to-air missiles and unguided rocket launchers. It proved itself in a number of conflicts as close air support for ground units.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, and glue the clear parts of the cockpit with canopy glue or with cyanoacrylate glue. Before the decals, apply a gloss clear coat over the painted surface, and once dry go over it with a matte coat. With helicopter subjects it pays off to shade the panels carefully and to add a fine weathering of exhaust streaks and operational grime.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
