Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. It contains twelve riders in four poses, twelve horses and twelve spears. The figures are unpainted and the riders have to be seated in the saddle. The allied cavalry complements the Macedonian and Thessalian mounted sets from the same maker, so complete mounted wings can be put together from them.
The allied cavalry came from the Greek cities of the League of Corinth, which provided Macedonia with contingents for the campaign into Persia. The riders were not as heavily armed as the hetairoi and in the formation they played a supporting and securing role on the wings. After the battle of Gaugamela Alexander released part of these detachments to go home and replaced them with hired riders who served for pay.
Softened plastic needs preparation: wash in lukewarm soapy water, dry and spray with a flexible primer. The spears are thin and bend easily when pulled from the sprue, so cut them off with a sharp knife and insert them straight into the rider's hand. For a more varied formation you can mix riders and horses across the poses, because the seats are interchangeable. Muted browns and duns suit the horses, while colorful saddlecloths bring an otherwise monotonous line to life.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
