Colored interior elements with raised relief for a model of the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk.V in 1:72 scale, shaped for the Airfix kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Armstrong Whitworth Whitley was one of the British night bombers with which the Royal Air Force entered the Second World War. It was a twin-engined, angular machine with an unusual attitude in flight: because of the large wing incidence it flew markedly nose-down, so in period photographs it looks as though it were descending the whole time. The Mk.V version was one of the most widespread. Besides night raids, the machines also found use dropping paratroops, scattering leaflets and patrolling over the sea.
The set brings colored interior elements with raised relief, that is instrument panels, side consoles and seat belts, in 1:72 scale and with shapes prepared for the Airfix kit. It takes the place of painting the small dials and controls: the element is laid onto a smooth plastic part and the interior is finished, in color and with a depth of detail hard to reach with a brush at this scale.
The method of application differs between the individual sets, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before the work; they also give the way the elements are fixed. First level the surface under the elements, clean it and degrease it, because an element will not seat on a rough or greasy surface. Fit the seats, levers and other parts only after the elements have been stuck down, otherwise the surfaces cannot be reached. Finish the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together.
For modelers who want a cockpit in a small scale to be colored and readable without tedious painting. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
