Vacuum-formed Avia S-199 canopy (Erla type) in 1:72 scale in the open position; the package contains 2 pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings two clear vacuum-formed canopies of the Erla type for a model of the Avia S-199 fighter in 1:72 scale, done in the open position. It is an accessory, not an aircraft kit: it replaces or supplements the clear parts of the base model and lets the cockpit be displayed with the canopy slid back. Two pieces in the package give you a spare should one be damaged while cutting out.
The Avia S-199 was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter based on the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G and fitted with a Junkers Jumo 211 engine. For its unpredictable behavior the pilots nicknamed it Mezek, the Czech word for mule. Some of the machines carried the lightened, well-glazed Erla type canopy, which improved the view from the cockpit.
Cut the vacuum-formed molding out carefully with a sharp scalpel just above the outline mark and level the edges with fine sandpaper. Dipping it in a clear gloss varnish will heighten the clarity. Glue it with PVA glue or a special canopy adhesive that leaves no milky marks; mask the frames before spraying.
This is an accessory for more advanced modelers; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
