About product

British 8th Army 1:72 (Italeri)

A set of infantry figures of the British Eighth Army in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The box contains a set of unpainted figures in soft plastic in several combat poses. The mold goes back to the older Esci production and the set suits both dioramas and wargaming from the African campaign.

The real subject

The figures capture soldiers of the British Eighth Army, which fought in North Africa against the Axis forces and became famous for the victory at El Alamein. They are shown in the tropical equipment of the day and carry the infantry weapons of the period: Lee-Enfield rifles, Sten submachine guns and Bren light machine guns.

Building and painting tips

The soft plastic of the figures calls for a glue for soft plastics or for a cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wash the parts before painting and apply a base coat. The sand and khaki tones of the tropical uniforms will stand out once you bring out the folds with a dark wash and a dry brush on the edges.

Who the set is for

  • modelers building dioramas of the African campaign
  • wargamers in 1:72 scale
  • collectors of Second World War infantry figures
  • builders looking for infantry to go with British equipment

The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
