HäT 1:72 British Colonial Artillery is four guns and twenty-four crew figures on four sprues.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds four sprues, each with one gun and six crew figures, so four weapons and twenty-four men together. The parts come unpainted and have to be assembled. The set adds fire support to the British colonial foot and mounted units from the same maker.
British artillery in the colonial campaigns worked in conditions that European doctrine had not been built for. The weapons were moved over great distances without roads, often drawn by mules or taken apart into loads, and fire was directed against fast-moving attacks in open country. Accurate artillery support was meanwhile often the only way for smaller European forces to even the odds.
Line the parts up dry first, above all the wheels and the seating of the carriage. Paint the carriages in a muted olive or a wood color according to the period, and darken the metal parts. Do not paint the crew in colonial khaki in one tone; bleached patches on the shoulders look convincing. A base with sand, boxes and cartridge cases turns a battery into a scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
