HäT 8022 Celtic cavalry is a 1:72 mounted set from the time of the Punic wars.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mounted set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with Celtic horsemen and their horses. It belongs to the range devoted to the Punic wars, in which the Celts fought on both sides. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled, with the rider seated separately. The manufacturer does not state the number of pieces, so check it on the packaging.
Celtic cavalry had a good reputation among the ancient peoples: the riders were used to horses from childhood, rode without stirrups and relied on a fast charge and on personal prowess. After crossing the Alps, Hannibal had a large share of Celtic warriors from the Po valley in his army, men drawn by the prospect of plunder and of defeating Rome. Their appearance was striking: long hair, trousers, mail armor among the wealthier and a shield with a painted pattern. Rome fielded both its own cavalry and allied detachments against them.
Paint the horses before you seat the riders. Color suits the Celts: checked and striped patterns on the trousers and cloaks are documented, and in a small scale two strokes are enough to suggest them. Paint the shields separately, pattern and all, while you still have them loose in your hand. Do the mail armor with a dark base and a dry brush in a metal tone.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
