de Havilland Mosquito B.XVI/B.35/TT.35 1:72 from Airfix: an injection-molded plastic kit of the British wooden Mosquito with a choice of the B.XVI or B.35 bomber or the TT.35 target tug.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous British Mosquito in 1:72 scale from Airfix. The tooling with its new parts allows the machine to be built in several roles: as the high-altitude B.XVI bomber, the postwar B.35 or the TT.35 target tug. The box offers the bulged bomb bay doors both open and closed, a heavy Cookie bomb, detail inside the bomb bay and the parts of the target-towing winch for the TT.35 version. Decals for several color schemes are included, among them a surviving TT.35 tug.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine combat aircraft of largely wooden construction, nicknamed the Wooden Wonder. It was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines. The B.XVI bomber version of 1944 received a pressurized cabin for operation at high altitude and a bulged bomb bay to carry a heavy bomb. After the war the B.35 variant appeared, and a number of machines were converted into TT.35 target tugs, which served with British units working with the anti-aircraft defenses into the early 1960s.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Decide in advance whether you will build the bomb bay open with the bomb or closed. Lay a primer before painting and spray the camouflage with an airbrush in thin layers; the smooth wooden surfaces of the Mosquito reward fine panel lines and discreet washes. On the TT.35 tug version the conspicuous warning stripes stand out, and precisely cut masks or decals will help here.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
