de Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI / NF Mk.II 1:72 (Tamiya) is a quality injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine aircraft of the Second World War with two building options.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from Tamiya in 1:72 scale, known for building well and for the accurate fit of its parts. The kit allows two sub-versions of the real subject to be built: the FB Mk.VI fighter-bomber or the NF Mk.II night fighter equipped with radar. A decal sheet is included. Thanks to its thoughtful engineering it is a rewarding model even for less experienced modelers.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine multirole aircraft of the Second World War with a largely wooden structure, for which it earned the nickname the Wooden Wonder. It was powered by a pair of liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines and, thanks to its low weight and clean lines, it was among the fastest machines of its day. The FB Mk.VI version was a fighter-bomber for attacks on ground and naval targets, while the NF Mk.II served as a night fighter with airborne radar for intercepting enemy aircraft in the dark.
It is injection-molded plastic, so glue it with a thinner model cement. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush and later fine accenting of the panel lines are ideal. On British schemes mask the boundaries of the colors carefully and add weathering and traces of service. Before closing the fuselage it pays to paint and fit the cockpit, and on the night version the equipment of the radar operator's station as well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
