Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German assault and transport glider DFS-230 in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS Models. This edition captures the variant fitted with assisted takeoff rockets, which shortened the run needed when the glider was operated. Photo-etched parts for the fine details are usually included in the package; the particular contents follow the given edition.
The DFS-230 was a light cargo and assault glider developed in Germany in the 1930s and deployed during the Second World War. It served to put a group of soldiers or a load down silently right in the target area. So that it could operate even from short or cramped strips, some machines were fitted with assisted takeoff rockets; the structure of a tube frame covered with fabric stayed light all the same.
With a short-run kit, clean up the mating faces of the parts and put the main assemblies together dry. Glue the photo-etched parts and the small rocket accessories with cyanoacrylate glue, and the plastic joints with a liquid cement for plastic. Mask the cockpit glazing and spray thin coats with an airbrush; the fabric surfaces come out with a fine accentuation of the ribs. Prepare a gloss varnish under the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
