Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the fighter biplane SPAD VII of the Russian license production of the DUX works in 1:72 scale from MAC Distribution, in the configuration for post-war service, usually on ski landing gear. The short-run model has fine relief, a photo-etched fret and clear film. The build includes bracing wires between the wings and is intended rather for more experienced modelers. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The French SPAD VII was also built under license in Russia, where the Moscow DUX works produced it. While Western machines left the front line soon after the end of the First World War, Russian SPADs served on through the civil war and in the first years of the Soviet Air Force as trainers and as combat fighters. In winter conditions they were commonly fitted with ski landing gear. It is precisely this post-war and winter chapter that sets the subject apart from the wartime machines of the Western Front and gives the model unusual markings and an unusual look.
Clean the short-run parts up carefully and try them dry; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. If you are building the winter version, do not forget the ski landing gear. Seat the upper wing precisely on its struts and finish the bracing wires after painting. The period fabric comes out best after a base coat, airbrushed color and a fine wash. A matte varnish will unify the model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
