1:72 English Knights and Archers

English Knights and Archers, 1:72 scale, Italeri

A plastic set of unassembled and unpainted figures of English knights and archers, in 1:72 scale. This is an injection-molded plastic set of figures suitable for building, painting and for building medieval dioramas. Italeri is a long-established Italian maker of plastic models and figures.

The real subject

English archers with longbows were among the most feared elements of a medieval army and played a key role in the battles of the Hundred Years War. They were accompanied by armored knights on horseback. The figures capture archers shooting as well as knights in combat, which makes them a rewarding subject for a historical diorama.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the figures and horses off the sprue and clean up the mold parting lines and the sprue nubs.
• On the softer plastic use a suitable cement or cyanoacrylate glue; apply a primer before painting.
• Paint with acrylics: a base coat, shadows in the folds and a dry brush on the edges.
• Paint the armor in metallic shades with a dark wash; bring the surcoats and coats of arms to life with heraldic colors.

Who the set is for

• For modelers and builders of medieval dioramas.
• For wargamers playing medieval battles in 1:72 scale.
