Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the single-seat F-16 fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks are ready to apply and replace the slow business of cutting shapes out of tape. The set is cut for the Academy kit. That matters because the same masks also come out in versions for other kits, and the name of the type would not tell them apart. The set does not contain a model or paints.
On the F-16 the cockpit glazing is formed by a large one-piece canopy without a windscreen frame, which runs from the nose far back. It gives the pilot an exceptional view, but for the modeler it means a long paint edge on which every irregularity stands out. On some aircraft the canopy is tinted a golden shade, so the painting approach differs according to the particular machine you are building.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the point of a scalpel or with tweezers. Degrease the surface before applying them, or the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch. A cured coat breaks away when the mask comes off and tears the edge.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
