Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter of the Second World War in 1:72 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The model faithfully captures the characteristic inverted gull wing and the large propeller, and it carries the features specific to the F4U-1D version, such as the frameless canopy and the longer landing gear strut. The manufacturer states two types of canopy, a set of rockets, two drop tanks and several marking options in the box.
The Vought F4U Corsair is among the best known carrier fighters of the Second World War. Its recognition feature is the inverted gull wing, which made it possible to use a large propeller without an overly long landing gear. The powerful Pratt & Whitney radial engine gave the Corsair high speed and rate of climb. The F4U-1D version of late 1944 was adapted for attacks on ground and naval targets as well, thanks to its ability to carry rockets and drop tanks.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage, and mask the canopy. Lay a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Good acrylic or enamel paints suit the period naval blue schemes; the panel lines can be brought out with a fine wash. Fit the rockets and tanks according to the scheme you choose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
