A 1:72 metal 15 cm barrel for the sFH 18 and the Hummel is a precisely turned metal replacement for the plastic barrel from Aber. It is not a model but an accessory that sharpens the detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel from Aber in 1:72 scale that can be used as a replacement for the plastic barrel on models of the heavy sFH 18 howitzer and of the Hummel self-propelled gun. It is not a kit but an accurate accessory that sharpens the detail. In metal, the massive large-caliber barrel has a perfectly circular section and a cleanly machined muzzle.
The 15 cm sFH 18 was the standard German heavy field howitzer of the Second World War. Its barrel was also carried by the tracked Hummel, a self-propelled gun built on the shared Geschützwagen III/IV chassis. The combination of mobility and firepower made it an important weapon of the German artillery.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then glue the metal part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). On large-caliber barrels the metal version is an advantage for its real weight as well. Degrease the brass before painting and cover it with a primer.
This is an accessory that sharpens the detail, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
