Aber 75mm L/70 for the Jagdpanzer IV, 1:72 is an accurate turned metal barrel of the long anti-tank gun that replaces the plastic part from a boxed kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a vehicle kit but an accurate accessory: a turned metal barrel in 1:72 scale that replaces the plastic barrel from a boxed kit. The manufacturer is Aber of Poland, a specialist in metal and photo-etched parts for modelers. On the very long L/70 barrel the merit of metal is especially plain: the part is perfectly straight, with no parting seam and no bowing, to which plastic easily tends at such a slender length.
The long 75mm gun with a barrel length of L/70 made up the armament of the German Jagdpanzer IV tank destroyer in its late version. The high muzzle velocity gave this low, well-armored vehicle considerable anti-tank effectiveness at the end of the Second World War. Its strikingly overhanging barrel is its recognition feature.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, adjusting the seating surface to the diameter of the metal part. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the surface before painting and apply a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the paint holds poorly. Fill any step between the metal and the plastic if need be.
The accessory does not include the model, the glue or the paints; it serves to modify a kit bought separately.
