Responsibility details are not available.
This product is not a model but a turned metal replacement barrel for the long 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun. It replaces the plastic barrel from a kit with a faithfully shaped metal part with a drilled muzzle and exact geometry. It is intended for models of the German Ferdinand and Elefant heavy tank destroyers in 1:72 scale. Aber is a Polish manufacturer of turned barrels and photo-etched accessories.
The long 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun was among the most powerful anti-tank guns of the war, and in the form of a derived version it made up the main armament of the Ferdinand, later rebuilt as the Elefant. The slender long barrel with its muzzle brake gave the vehicle great reach and penetration.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then glue the metal one on with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Metal keeps a long barrel perfectly straight. Degrease it before painting and apply a primer suitable for metal, ideally with an airbrush.
This is a metal accessory, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
