Responsibility details are not available.
A set in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains three chariots, fifteen figures in five poses and six horses, that is, a pair for each chariot, the horses being in two poses. Three men go with one chariot: a driver, an archer and a noble fighter. Two of the poses were intended by the manufacturer as a complement to the Indian elephant and the Indian infantry of the same range, so they can be used off the chariot as well.
Indian armies of the fourth century BC relied on battle chariots alongside elephants and infantry with long bows. The chariot carried a crew with archers and served mainly as a mobile shooting platform and as the place of a commander. At the battle of the Hydaspes in 326 BC, however, the chariots of King Porus proved a disadvantage, because ground soaked by the monsoon rain brought them to a standstill.
Line the parts up dry, above all the axle and the wheels. You will capture the wood of the chariot with an ocher base and a brown glaze drawn along the grain; leave the metal fittings dark. Indian color will take strength: white fabrics with a red and gold border match the depictions of the period. Paint the horses in muted tones. Glue the bows and javelins on only after the crew is painted, otherwise you cannot reach the figures.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
