A base for a model 1:72 with the Japanese flag is an acrylic sheet 280 x 180 mm with a thickness of 3 mm with a printed red disc. The smaller format of the two sizes of this line.
Responsibility details are not available.
The smaller of the two formats in which this motif is offered measures 280 x 180 mm and weighs 170 g. The load-bearing material is again acrylic three millimeters thick, so the sheet stays stiff even when carried by one edge. The manufacture comes from the Ukrainian workshop Kelik.
A white field with a single red circle is graphically so calm that, unlike striped and crossed flags, it does not overpower the model. That is exactly why it suits even machines with colorful markings or striking camouflage, which a busier background would optically break up.
In 1:72 scale the sheet will take a single-engine aircraft of the Ki-43 or Ki-61 type together with the crew set down beside it, or a pair of smaller machines one behind the other. The circle in the middle offers a natural place for the center of gravity of the composition, on which the model looks balanced from every angle. If the surface is covered with a protective film, take it off only once the build is finished, so that scratches from tools do not get into the gloss. The lower weight comes in handy when the model travels to a show in a box.
This is a plain background with no kit parts.
