Airfix 1:72 Messerschmitt Me-262A-1a/2a is a plastic kit of the first jet aircraft committed to combat, with the option of building either the fighter or the fighter-bomber version.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the German jet aircraft Messerschmitt Me 262 in 1:72 scale from Airfix. It is a modern injection-molded kit from a newer mold with a finely engraved surface and good detail. The box allows two versions to be built - the pure fighter Me 262A-1a and the fighter-bomber Me 262A-2a Sturmvogel - and it offers decal markings for the matching machines.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter in the world to be mass-produced and committed to combat, entering service in 1944. Its pair of jet engines gave it a speed well beyond that of Allied piston fighters. The A-1a version served as a fighter, while the A-2a Sturmvogel version was adapted to carry bombs as a fighter-bomber.
Glue the model with thin plastic cement and sand the joints down. A primer coat and an airbrush suit the period German camouflage schemes with their characteristic mottling. The engraved panel lines come out well once a thin wash is applied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
