An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet heavy interceptor MiG-31 (NATO reporting name Foxhound-A) in 1:72 scale from the Zvezda brand. The model captures the massive two-seat interceptor with its long fuselage and large engine nacelles.
The MiG-31 came about as the successor of the fast MiG-25 and it was intended to intercept air targets at long range, including low-flying cruise missiles. It is among the fastest combat aircraft in the world; its two-man crew consists of a pilot and a weapon systems operator. Its powerful radar was able to track several targets at once and guided long-range missiles onto them. The basic Foxhound-A configuration remains in service in modernized versions to this day.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the long joints of the fuselage and the engine nacelles carefully. Apply a base (primer) before painting. Spray the light gray Soviet camouflages with an airbrush in thin coats. A gloss varnish under the decals will prevent the edges from lifting, and a matte or semi-gloss varnish will unify the final look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
