The flagship kit of the Millennium Falcon starship in 1:72 scale, distributed by Revell under its own brand. The Perfect Grade line represents the highest level of detail and difficulty: the model consists of hundreds of parts, measures around 48 cm once built and offers a faithful rendering of the surface of the famous studio model. The package includes an LED unit for lighting the engines, the landing gear, the cockpit and the loading ramp, photo-etched parts for the fine details, small crew figures and a stable display stand.
The Millennium Falcon is a modified CEC YT-1300 light freighter that became one of the best known ships of all in the film saga. It was renowned for its speed, its battered, lived-in look and countless repairs. Perfect Grade is based on measurements of the surviving original studio model, so it captures even the small panels and superstructures.
This is a demanding project for experienced modelers. It pays to plan the build in sections, to run the LED wiring as you go and to test it before the shells are closed. Subtle shades, panel shadows (washes) and discreet weathering that brings out the countless panels will bring the gray surface to life. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and batteries for the LEDs are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
