Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand MARS Model. The package contains forty-eight figures in twelve poses. The figures are unpainted and come on sprues. The subjects are buccaneers of the first half of the seventeenth century, the time when what later came to be called the Golden Age of Piracy was only being born in the Caribbean.
The word buccaneer originally meant the hunters of wild cattle on Hispaniola, who smoked their meat on a grill called a boucan. When the Spanish authorities began to push them out, they turned to the sea, and the hunters became raiders. They fought with a long hunting musket, which they knew how to use with exceptional accuracy, and with a sword. Tortuga became their base, and later Port Royal in Jamaica.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Buccaneers were not an army, so avoid a uniform range of color: every figure can have a different shade of coat, shirt and trousers. Keep the leather and the canvas in brown and beige tones, and save the color for the scarves and sashes. The twelve poses are enough for a lively scene on deck or on the shore.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
