An injection-molded plastic model of the modern French multi-role fighter Dassault Rafale in the naval M version from Italeri in 1:72 scale. The parts are molded in light gray plastic and a clear sprue for the cockpit is included. The M version is made for operation from an aircraft carrier.
The Rafale is a twin-engine multi-role fighter with a delta wing and canards, able to carry out tasks from air combat through attacks on ground targets to reconnaissance. The naval Rafale M version operates from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle: it has strengthened landing gear for hard landings on the deck, an arrestor hook and modifications for a catapult launch. Unlike many other carrier aircraft it does not have folding wings. It was powered by two Snecma M88 engines.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, sand the joints and lay a primer before painting. Pay attention to the cockpit and the external stores, as on a modern jet these are the main visible elements. The typical finish of the Rafale M is modern aviation gray in several shades; an airbrush allows fine transitions. The engraved panel lines can be brought out with a dark wash (a paneliner), and the decals are seated on a smooth gloss coat and sealed with a flat varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
