Responsibility details are not available.
A set produced by 3D printing for dioramas on the deck of American aircraft carriers in 1:72 scale. It contains three figures of ordnance handlers in red jerseys and an AERO 21A series transport trolley used to bring munitions to the aircraft. In this scale figures are usually very simplified, but printing can hold the folds of the clothing and the protective equipment. The set is not an aircraft model; it is figures and equipment for a scene.
The color of a jersey has a precise meaning on the deck of an aircraft carrier and the whole operation is governed by it. Red belongs to the ordnance handlers and the crash and salvage crews, that is, to the people who handle munitions and fight fires. They are the ones who bring bombs and rockets to the aircraft on trolleys and hang them on the pylons. On a crowded deck, where it is impossible to communicate by voice, color coding is the only quick way of telling who is doing what.
The printed parts are held on thin print supports. Snip them off close to the figure and level the surface with a scalpel. They are bonded with super glue. Apply a primer before painting. Spray the jerseys a rich red over a light base, otherwise the shade will darken. In 1:72 scale a face is suggested rather than painted; a basic tone and a light shadow are enough.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
