Model of the French Renault FT light tank in 1:72 scale, in the version armed with a machine gun instead of a gun. This is the machine with which the history of the modern tank begins, so it is missing from no collection, not even those of people who otherwise take no interest in the First World War. The kit belongs to a line in which the maker uses soft plastic, on which ordinary cement for polystyrene does not hold.
The Renault FT was the first tank with a fully rotating turret and with the layout still used today: the driver at the front, the turret in the middle, the engine at the rear. It was small and cheap and was built in enormous numbers, because French doctrine assumed that tanks would accompany the infantry in masses. The machine-gun version carried a light weapon instead of the 37 mm gun and was intended against infantry and machine-gun nests.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water first and let them dry completely. On soft plastic, use a primer intended for this material, otherwise the paint will crack. The parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. French vehicles of that period wore striking multi-color camouflage with hard edges, so it pays to divide the fields with masking tape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
