A 1:72 metal 100 mm barrel for the SU-100 tank destroyer is a precisely turned metal replacement for the plastic barrel from Aber. It is not a model but an accessory that sharpens the detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel from Aber in 1:72 scale, meant as a replacement for the plastic barrel on models of the Soviet SU-100 tank destroyer. It is not a vehicle kit but an accurate accessory that sharpens the detail. The machined barrel has a faithful profile, a correctly shaped muzzle and a perfectly circular section.
The SU-100 was a Soviet tank destroyer on the T-34 chassis, armed with a powerful 100 mm gun. It entered service at the end of 1944 and was among the most effective anti-tank weapons of the Red Army against heavy German vehicles. Its long barrel is the typical recognition feature of the machine.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then glue the metal part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A long metal barrel stays perfectly straight, with no risk of the bow that often troubles plastic on slender parts. Degrease the brass before painting and cover it with a primer.
This is an accessory that sharpens the detail, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
