An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian Bumerang wheeled armored personnel carrier in the 8x8 configuration in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. It is a compact model of a modern vehicle with a well-articulated hull surface, a turret module and eight wheels. The box contains decals with several marking options. Thanks to the smaller scale the model also suits larger displays and dioramas.
The Bumerang is a modern Russian wheeled armored vehicle platform intended to serve as a carrier and as a new-generation infantry fighting vehicle. It was shown to the public for the first time at a parade in 2015. The vehicle is designed to be amphibious, with a crew compartment and room for an infantry squad. It is usually armed with a remotely operated turret module carrying an automatic cannon, anti-tank guided missiles and a machine gun. It represents the current direction of Russian wheeled armor development.
In 1:72 scale pay attention to clean seams and fine detail. Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies; finish and paint the wheels and the running gear before final assembly. Apply primer before painting and spray with an airbrush, as thin coats work well on a smaller model. A fine wash in the recesses and careful placement of the decals will bring out the modern look; heavy mud is better kept to a minimum on a contemporary vehicle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
