A large plastic kit of the German fast torpedo boat Schnellboot S-38b in 1:72 scale from FORE ART. The model, in the configuration with an armored bridge, contains photo-etched parts, metal gun barrels, masking templates and thread for the rigging; the finished boat is around 48 cm long.
The Schnellboot (called the E-boat by the Allies) was a German fast torpedo boat used in the Second World War in the English Channel, the North Sea and the Mediterranean. Its wood and metal construction and powerful engines made it a fast and agile opponent. The S-38b version received an armored enclosed bridge, which gave the crew better protection.
The large scale invites careful work on the deck, the armament and the rigging. Glue the photo-etched railings and the metal barrels with cyanoacrylate. Spray the hull and the superstructures with an airbrush, and shading and fine weathering suit the wooden deck. The finished model looks good on a stand in a display case.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
