An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet twin-engine dive bomber Petlyakov Pe-2 in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Zvezda. This is a modern tooling with finely engraved surface detail that captures the aircraft's characteristic slender silhouette. A decal sheet with several color schemes is included with the model.
The Petlyakov Pe-2, nicknamed Peshka, was the most numerous Soviet frontline bomber of the Second World War — more than ten thousand were built. It was originally conceived as a fast twin-engine aircraft and evolved into a versatile dive and frontline bomber prized for its high speed, good agility, and toughness. It was deployed across every sector of the Eastern Front and also served with Allied air units.
Glue the plastic parts with thin liquid plastic cement, and carefully fill and sand the seams on the fuselage and engine nacelles. It pays to mask the glazed cockpit and tail before painting. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush in thin coats; bring the Soviet schemes (a green-black upper camouflage over a light underside) to life with panel highlighting and a light wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
