This plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Polish manufacturer IBG Models depicts the Su-20 fighter-bomber in Polish Air Force colors. The box combines quality plastic parts with photo-etched sheet for the fine detail and a decal sheet with several options of Polish markings. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Su-20 was the export version of the Soviet Su-17 family with a variable-geometry wing (NATO designation Fitter). Poland took over its first machines in the middle of the 1970s and operated them as fighter-bombers for a number of years. The variable-sweep wing allowed a short takeoff as well as high speed in the attack.
Bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Metallic and gray shades suit the Polish machines; bring out the panel lines with a wash and even the transitions out with a matte varnish before applying the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
