Responsibility details are not available.
A set in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains three chariots, six figures in two poses and a team of four for each chariot, that is, twelve draft animals in two poses. It is a kit in which the chariot, the crew and the team are all assembled from individual parts. The material is unpainted plastic, so the set calls for both gluing and painting.
The Sumerian battle chariot is among the oldest depicted vehicles in the history of warfare. We know it from the so-called Standard of Ur, from around 2500 BC. Unlike the later light chariots with spoked wheels it had heavy solid wheels and was drawn by a team of four animals, probably hybrids of the donkey and the wild ass. The chariot carried a driver and a fighter with javelins and served more to break through and to intimidate than for rapid maneuver.
Line the parts up dry first; with the team it is important that all four animals stand in one plane, otherwise the chariot sits crooked. Bring out the solid wheels with wood grain and ironwork in a dark shade. Paint the chariot in natural tones and leave the decorative elements for last. A base with a clay surface and wheel ruts scored into it gives the scene scale and anchors an otherwise slender structure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
