Responsibility details are not available.
This set of small plastic figures in 1:72 scale from Italeri captures knights and fighting men of the Teutonic Order (Deutscher Orden) from the 12th and 13th centuries. The package holds a larger number of figures in various poses, suitable for assembling a battle scene or a diorama. It is a kit to be assembled and painted, not a set of finished figures.
The Teutonic Order was a religious order of knights that arose in the time of the crusades. Its members wore a white mantle with a black cross and became famous for their work in the Holy Land and for their later campaigns in the Baltic, where the order built a state of its own. The equipment of the knights and of their retinue consisted of a mail shirt, a helmet, a shield, a lance and a sword; the 12th and 13th centuries correspond to the high era of the crusades and of the order's expansion into the north of Europe.
Separate the small figures from the sprues carefully and clean up the mold seams; because of the small scale, work with a sharp knife and a magnifier. Glue them with a cement suitable for the type of plastic and lay a thin primer on before painting. On the knights the white mantle with the black cross, the metallic sheen of the armor and the colored shields will stand out; bring out the folds of the cloth and the recesses of the armor with a darker wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
