U-boat U-IX – crew in raincoats (3 figures, 1:72) is a resin set of three submariner figures in waterproof raincoats for a model of a Type IX submarine.

A set of three resin figures in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker CMK. This is not a model in its own right but an accessory intended for the conning tower and the deck of a model of a German Type IX submarine. The figures represent crew members in waterproof raincoats of the kind worn on watch at sea in bad weather.
Type IX submarines operated over long distances in World War II, often in the harsh weather conditions of the Atlantic. The watch on the open bridge protected itself against the waves and the rain with exactly such long raincoats. The figures therefore fill in the atmosphere of a cruise on the open sea well.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and fit the heads. Do the gluing with cyanoacrylate glue, and any sanding with respiratory protection. The raincoats come out well in darker matte shades with the folds lightly brought out.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
