U-Boot IX - galley, 1:72 - a CMK resin detail set rendering the compact galley of the Type IX submarine.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail set from CMK, not a submarine model. The set renders the separate galley of the Type IX submarine - with watertight bulkheads, the floor, a ladder to the hatch, a stove, a sink and a refrigerator with a compressor.
On an ocean-going submarine, cooking had to be done for the whole crew over whole weeks at sea. The galley was therefore used down to the last inch and was one of the few spaces where life on board took on an everyday rhythm.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash them and degrease them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. A combination of metallic surfaces on the stove and sink, light walls and a fine wash gives the galley a faithful, used look.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory, not a submarine model. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
